Absence Makes the Heart Grow Cold

I have been absent for sometime My words have been held in transit Just waiting to form a semblance of Rational understanding of the journey I have over the seasons encountered How does one explain the feelings of betrayal? One's own stupid ignorance to believe in another's Promises of wedded bliss to eventual threats of murder Belittled, humiliated, degraded by a callous wolf In sheep's clothing I was left wounded in heart My souls journey back to wholeness has taken time Only to then engage on another tempestuous journey to hold onto A beloved child in desperate despair of wanting to end it all Not once nor thrice but five times I have tried to hold His heart and head together Fighting the shadowy world of broken dreams, alcohol and drugs, determined not to allow the darkness to take him out I have fought the dragon of despair till emotional stability and help was there I have travailed in birth yet again determined Life would win Spring has followed those Wintry bleak cold grey and barren Times of stripped bare branches that now bud with Springs New Birth Hope arises like the Sun's Dawn as it chases away its darkest hour The Son's golden light is strong to heal from the horrors of- The Dark Knight who came to lie, steal and kill. Thanks for sharing this... exposing your thoughts through your unique poetic style. Meanwhile, I greet you with the love of the Lord, expressed by John 3:16 of the Bible, "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." Be blessed.

Strong emotional content Brenda but let me just say your abuse was nothing you did wrong but a sickness within him. You are better for the freedom. Namaste.
