A Woman's Work

A woman’s work A woman’s work is never done At times it really is no fun Washing, ironing, all those chores! Then it’s down to washing floors My day will start at nine o clock And then I’ll hardly ever stop Until my home is clean again Dirtiness drives me insane Soon it’s time to cook the tea Oh boy I’m such a busy bee I wish sometimes folk did not eat So I can rest from aching feet I accept these chores though, with much ease Like a bird flies in the trees A woman has to do her chores And this will be forever more 8 May 2014 @ 1330hrs.

Hi Vera It is heart touching , and lovable write. Woman at home has so many things to do , and words is not enough for them. she bears child with pain and she feed her for 2 years and then till they grown up , has any one asked mother , did not she get tired.... It brought tears in my eyes to thing of my mom Hugs for you

Thank you for going back on this one Muhammed, all work and no play as they say, I have done my bit for the world, raised three children and now I sit back and watch them raise their own, mind you I am still doing housework and washing and ironing etc, so a womans work is never done, take care my friend......Vera

I love it Vera! You got it right, women's work is never done, at least that's true when it comes to many of us. Lol...some women don't care about mess and dirtiness at all. I do care and hate to see a dirty and messy house. My home is always super clean because of me. My poor feet are not so happy at all at the end of each day. Love your poem in all. Hugs and cheers! Dorian thank you for your lovely comment on this poem, sometimes I find it very hard to think of something to write so Peter said write about your daily life so this is the type of thing I come up with, you sound a bit like me, I am not squeaky clean but I do like it tidy, in fact I have just finished moping my floors so I am now sitting down and about to have a cup of coffee and watch my English soaps which I absolutely love, take care my dear friend...................Vera...............

Vera once when I was young and newly unemployed I volunteered to do all the house work. Nothing like do that to spur a man to find another job pronto! I had another job in less than two weeks! lol ENJOYED THE WRITE AND SO MUCH TRUTH STATED SO VERY WELL!!

Shadow when I thought of that poem I was busy hanging out my washing and as soon as it came to me I had to rush inside and jot it down before I forgot it, and boy did I enjoy writing that one I thought it would appeal to all the ladies......Take care...........Vera...............

Yes, chores are a fact of life..I have an idea though a house made so that once a day we can just take a hose and hose the whole thing down the drain then have huge dryers to come on and blow it dry..Clean and neat in just no time at all..Men have their chores as well but it seems that they at least have some that have an end and they can look on them with pride and say you did good today and that job not have to be done again for a long while..Sara

Oh Sara I totally agree with you, wouldn't it be nice, mind you I do have a lot of mod cons like dishwasher, robot vac. cleaner etc. but I still find plenty to do, would love to have a robot to hang out my washing, but when you come to think of it what will I do with my time, thank you so much for the comment, take care............Vera............
