A Wind Storm At Sea
I sail the ocean blue with my sails up and full of air
Short bursts of wind power my voyage across the earth’s oceans
To the welcoming shores
Courageous men are my crew, for a ship is like an island and their home
~
A storm appears from nowhere
Causing high waves to beat down on the ship
Winds wrench with howls and screams
The men stagger like drunken sailors
There is nothing more frightening than a storm at sea
The crew fights desperately to keep the ship under control
But the waves grow higher with every breath the wind blows
~
The storm eventually becomes still and the waves of the sea hush
Early morning sun illuminates the water around the ship
Everyone is tired after the storm's wrath
The ship has survived once again and we set a course and make a path
Back to safe harbor of the welcoming shores
