A Web of Lies
Your cloying tales of days gone by,
memories of sugar crystals.
Saccharide words of poisoned lies
shot me point blank from your pistol.
You spin a web of golden beams,
flashing starlight, a laughing face.
With secrets shared and rainbow dreams,
you weave deceit in threads of lace.
Dark clouds of broken promises
cast in the shadows of your smile.
Forgotten deeds and air kisses,
forgiveness tainted with denial.
In time, I know I'll come to forgive.
Though, I only have one heart to give.
