A Walk In the Park

Sometimes she needs to get away, if she gets the notion, to get away for just a bit, from all the noise and commotion, just a drive to the park, is her best reprieve, she just needed some solace, some quiet and some peace… Just to be alone with her thoughts, she knows she's got a lot on her plate, she contemplates her family's future, wonders what will be their fate… walking along the path, watching the antics of the squirrels, the people out walking their dogs, she suddenly starts to smile, her chin lifts up and with a spring in her step, walks another mile...

I like this, Cheryl. You skillfully and in fine poetic form catch the quality of hope that is part of human nature. Thank you for sharing it.

Nicely written. I, too, enjoy walks in our local park, but, unlike the lady in your poem, i go to think and jot down ideas for poems in my notebook. I also enjoy walking the beach – to air out my head mostly. Thank you for reading my humor. Best to you in your writing endeavors. / M

An enchanting piece of writing Cheryl. I love to escape to the river (10 mins away) and let the water soothe me :-)

Thank you Lenny, being out with nature can be very soothing and comforting…but if I were hiking in the deep woods somewhere I'd have some sort of weapon because of the "critters!" :)
