A Vacation To Remember
Time passes so quickly and he is growing up
At thirteen, no longer a boy, not yet a man
We surprised him by planning a special trip
To have him to ourselves while we still can..
Adventure and excitement and something new
Costa Rica has all of these things and more
We hiked a volcano, saw monkeys and sloths
Parasailing, zip lining, and green frogs galore..
We met local people and stopped by a school
Bought trinkets and ate some wonderful things
Watched the sun set over the emerald sea
And thrilled as the toucans stretched their wings
But the very best part of this week in the spring
Was sharing these marvels with this special boy
Our grandson glows when he speaks of that time
We know he'll remember Costa Rica with joy
