A Tribute To Robin Williams

A good man's gone, loved by us all on the screen both big and small. The fire is cold, the lights are out. His soul's moved on, without a doubt. The laughter's gone that masked the pain. The house is still and peace does reign. He fought his battles on life's wild ride, but lost his war with the demons inside. How can one thrive on acclaim and wealth without the love of one's own self? I hope you found the peace you sought. The life you lived won't be forgot. July 5, 2015

He shall live on in film for a very long time. This does underline how dark and deep depression is and in 2016 it is still largely ignored or with the attitude one can "snap out of it." Lovely tribute!

Hi Jan. I do not know but there is a rumor that his death was not actually what it was touted to be in the media...I hope the rumor is true, that would mean he has a chance to be in God's arms. Thank you for sharing this piece about a well-admired man. hugs!

Yea...but I mean, there's a rumor that he was pressured by a powerful group also rumored to be behind some other celebrity deaths.

Yes. His wife recently said in an interview that he had a terminal illness which affected him mentally. He did not want to die slowly and suffer. I feel the same about quality of life. Do not leave me trapped in a body with no soul. Sometimes our spirit moves on and leaves us a shell of who we were: unrecognizable and a burden to all. Perhaps he had to make a decision while he still could. hugs. Janece

Hey Janece, still strolling through your wonderful poems. This is definitely and excellent tribute to Robin who made so many people laugh and forget their troubles for a while through his brilliant acting and comedy. He would make me laugh so hard sometimes my face would hurt. Thanks for sharing this and for the memories of this funny yet deeply troubled soul. Be Blessed, Neva

Thanks, Kim. Even before the details regarding Robin William's suicide were released, I felt there were demons at work. So many people laugh on the outside but are actually enduring a pain that others can't see. I wrote this poem that first terrible night. The news affected me deeply and I had to put down my thoughts at the time. I find expressing myself in poetry is the best way to say what I am thinking. It is like organizing my thoughts that are a jumbled mess. Glad you like my tribute poem. I hope he would approve too. :) Jan
