A Tribute To Our Soldiers

Thousands of miles they journeyed to a land filled with burning sands, To let freedom ring and democracy rule in these foreign lands. Mostly young men just out of school, Fighting in a war where there are no rules. Car bombings and snipers they set the pace, In this land so full of history of the human race. This country is the second most talked about place in the Bible we read, The Garden of Eden was in Iraq, where God created man the starting of our seed. Iraq had many names and I’ll try to name a few, Mesopotamia, The Land of Shinar, and Babylon too. I just pray that the lives that are lost will someday be justified, And we fully appreciate their sacrifice and never allow their courage to be denied. I just pray it soon will end so they can come home again, But until that day I pray you keep them safe till then. Just a few days ago the war it ruled the news, Now it’s Obama and Hilary, it’s a shame they both can’t lose. I think they should take second stage to the ones who are over there, It seems to be all about them I wonder if they really care? Forgive my ramblings but I have heard all these speeches before, And nothing ever changes, and it’s making me sore.
