A Tribute To Connie Marcum Wong

If I could give you a rose for everyone you touched, you would have a garden of roses. If there was a person's name that represented Kindness and Love it would be yours. If remembering someone special, that genuinely cared about others and was giving of themselves, you would be the one I think of. If I had to choose one friend in this world, I would choose you. If Angels are real, and they were here on this earth, You were one. " The Mother Tree" you were to all those you loved. (The Mother Tree was a poem Connie wrote that made 100 best Poems list.) Your heartache is over Dear friend. All whom you touched, are thinking of you. Love and good wishes, We send. To an Angel, we once knew. You touched our lives for a while, and shared your love and your trust. We will always remember your smile, and the love you shared with us. You missed your husband and son. You wrote of your love for them. Now the time has come. When you're reunited with them again.. You will always be part of our lives. As these tears roll down my face, as I ask the questions why, and trust in our Lords Grace. Rest in Peace Dear Connie. Your Poetry Lives On Forever You Will Never Be Forgotten By All Who Loved You My condolences to Jennifer her daughter, and the rest of the family. Michael Tor

Thank you Sandra for your compliment. Your Tribute to Connie was one that I thought was done extremely well. You did it in the Constanza form which she invented. I thought that was very clever of you, to do it in that form to honor her. I always wonder Sandra why the good leave this world so early in life. It has been a roller coaster ride for Connie and sadly the ride came to a stop. I believe though if anything good came out of all this is that she was reunited with her husband Mike who she loved and her stepson. Constance LaFrance did a tribute like yours that was honored on POTD and received many wonderful reviews like yours. Another great one was John Watts "A Rose and Her Thorns" which was another amazing Tribute to Connie. We all share a special place in our hearts for Connie, and the Tributes reflected that in each of us. Thank you Sandra for your kind and thoughtful comment. May the good Lord richly bless you...

Thank you Vie. A few of us have done Tributes. Please if you haven't already read John Watt's tribute A Rose and Her Thorns. It is one that I really am so fond of. A touching and well thought of Poem that reflects John's vision and creativity in the best form of Poetry. Constance La France, and Sandra Haight have also written incredible Tributes using Connies Costanza form. They have all done marvelous tributes and are all gifted writers as like yourself. God bless you Vie and enjoy the rest of your weekend...

Thank you Brandy you also have a wonderful heart. That is so nice of you to keep her family in prayers. Connie was very close to her daughter Jennifer and I am sure she is devastated now in losing her Dear mother. I believe she is a nurse. Connie use to talk about Jennifer a lot. They were very close. I was glad I did that tribute for her when she went into the hospital. John Watt was instrumental in letting everyone know she was in the Hospital, he generously did a blog and let everyone know. Everyone responded and a lot of them Soup mailed Connie and wished her well and were praying for her. Connie is with her beloved husband and son and our Good Lord Brandy... Thanks for stopping by, and reading Connies Tribute. God bless you...

Mark thank you so much for your kind words my friend. I am overwhelmed with how many have written or have done Tributes on Connie. She was well loved. John Watt did a marvelous Tribute, Sandra, and Constance shared their Tribute also. The newest blogs have almost all been about Connie. I am so sad Mark. I think that we all have had our hearts broken. Such a sweet caring soul. She will live in our hearts forever... Thank you Mark for stopping by and recognizing Connies Tribute. Connie would have been happy to know you cared. God bless you Mark and thank you again for your thoughtful words my friend...

This the best tribute to dear Connie. She was kind and always supportive. I hope she is looking down and reading comments like yours and all the other writers who share personal thoughts of her. I am sure she is grateful for all of us that were involved in reading and having a special relationship with her. These words, your words, are comforting Michael Tor. Thank you!

Thank you Anaya for your kind words but Please read John Watt's A Rose and Her Thorns, it is a Masterpiece how John thought of the Rose and the thorns and incorporated the Ivy in Connies heartache of loosing her husband and then son. John through Personification created Connies pain and then the ending she reunites with her loved ones. John's is my favorite Tribute so far. Constance and Sandra did remarkable Tributes as well. Much better than mine. I am just so happy to write something special in remembrance of Connie. Andrea Dietrich is yet to write on Connie. I am looking forward to reading hers. Her and Connie were Dear friends. I thank you Anaya for your kind words if you havent't read Johns, or the other Tributes please do you will see each one Contributed wonderfully. God bless you Dear...

Michael, this is indeed a beautiful tribute to an extraordinary woman, poet and friend. She was the living "Mother Tree" to all who knew her. You have written a beautiful way to remember her through her own words. Thank you for this gift, this blessing. Sending you blessings on wings of comfort.

Sam your words touched me. We were so fortunate to read and enjoy Connies Poetry. The interactions with her were always special and left a good feeling given from her thoughtful words to convey. She like you are what makes this group of writers special. They are friends who we get to know over the years and enjoy the special interaction with. So many wonderful writers here, I wish I could reach out more, but it is as you know sometimes difficult with work, and family life, and life itself.

Hi Michael, judging from the number and caliber of comments below it's obvious that Connie was not (and is not) the only admired, loved and highly regarded poet herein. God bless you and your tribute to her and thanks for your own poetic prowess which keeps me coming back. Peace, Terry

Terry your words are so generous my friend. Everyone here to me is very special because we all share a unity of admiration for each other's works. We are a community of kindred souls expressing what we love to do and that is share our unique gifts of writing and reflection to our friends who do the same for us. After a while you build relationships that become almost like an extended family. I try and appreciate everyone reaching out. Some reach back others don't but that's ok. You are one of the special ones that have reached back 98% reach back. The ones that reach back form a bond that is more special than my words can express. God bless you Terry so glad your back missed your Poetry...

Hi Ani. Your words are so kind to hear. Thank you for your kindness and your thoughts on Connie. She will be missed, her love in her words in commenting was always refective of the kind of person she was, I think the word is Special. Like you she was caring and thoughtful in all her ways. She made an impact in peoples lives and for that she will always be part of this Poetry Soup Family of ours. A special family outside our own, with friends we are so close to. God bless you Ani, for the tender heart you have...

Pangie your words are generous and kind. Connie was like you, a special friend with a caring soul. It was felt in reading her Poetry. The acknowledgement of her passing is a testimony to how she was adored. She belongs to the group of special people that we recognize in our lives that makes a difference in this world we share. I know she now has joy, to be with her husband, and son, and our Loving Lord. Thank you Pangie for your kindness. God bless you...

I am glad I came back here and saw your reply just now. OMG, those stupid idiot doctors. They screwed ME up and then they screwed my mom up and now they screwed Connie up so bad that she may have died thanks to them. I am waiting for more words from jennifer but she is not saying much. yes, I loved John's poem. Also Sam and Constance have written real gems. I seem to have difficulties writing poems for people who have died. It took me years to write about Dale I hope eventually to do a poem for my dear friend Connie. She was my best email pal I ever had!!

Thank you Andrea. You and Connie are special people here on the Soup. Birds of a feather flock together. God bless you Andrea and I am sorry for your loss. I know how much Connie meant to you. We will always remember. I want to share this with you. One of the last Soup mails she sent me was telling me how upset she was that the pacemaker they had inserted was the wrong one. Can you imagine that? That was a week or two before her passing. This really upsets me. How can they insert the wrong device in someone. Unbelievable. I wonder if that was the reason she succumbed. Have you talked to Jennifer? I am still grieving. John did a wonderful Poem A Rose and Her Thorns, about Connie It is fabulous... I was hoping you would write one also. I would love to read your sentiments of Dear Connie...

This is such a fitting and genuine tribute Michael. Rest in peace, dear Connie, both physically and emotionally, as you went through so much suffering as a result of the catastrophes that you and your family experienced. You and your family were harmed. It is heartbreaking to learn that she has died. We appreciate you informing us. She was a lovely human being, and I pray that God will bless both her spirit and you for writing such a heartfelt tribute.
