A Tribute To Broken Wings

I have seen a poet with broken wings And though she says she can't fly She still sings Every note, from pen to paper Her thoughts, they express And though some seek to pin and cage her She sings nonetheless Though her heart might be hurting Someday she'll soar Even broken wings can be healed I've seen it happen before Though this is many poets' shelter She's one of the finest I've seen And if only in my personal opinion She deserves the title 'Poetry Queen' 7-21-15 ©Copyright 2015.
