A FORTIES CHILDHOOD Feelings ,then were not shared but held back, within. A reservoir of emotions controlled, withheld... until death ,shatters the dam.

WOW! Nicely done Brain. I like this. And it rings true for even later and parts of the following generations of baby boomers... well, some of us. Well done. Big hug. Deb

I take it that this was a loss in the 1940's of someone. Very moving bio. Best wishes for the contest. Blessings, Janis.

So true, Brian. Very nicely done. Surely, each successive generation has improved on that score.

Yes Doug 'bad' can be a relative term at anyrate certainly simpler than now, thru my childs eyes and memories. It was different probably for my parents as there was a war and its aftermath on here in England for much of that decade.

My parents were born in 1936 and 1937, definitely kids in the 40s... I remember my grandmother, born in 1910, talking about how it was for her great-grandmother, born in the 1830s. Man... you think the 1940s were bad... : P
