A Touch of Class

A Touch Of Class A touch of class, I wish I had, but what is that? To some people - it means to be rich. Others just say, they have class for reasons that only they know. If you got money - you got class. If you don't - you are considered trash, or so they say. Class" I think comes in different forms. Some people marry into class. Some people gain class and some people are born with class. To have class is to never brag about your exploits. Let other people do it for you. A touch of class is - like a touch of Mink. You see it, but you can't catch it. To have class is - to respect others and respect yourself. That is what I think is class...

I believe to have Class is to deny cruel people the ability to ruin one's heart, to sustain a love for life and others positive potential despite the subterfuge of the spiritually weak Lucilla. What I'm saying, is that you said it best in the final verse of this lovely philosophical write. This is a masterpiece of poetic skill and wisdom, bravo and encore! A FAV. J.A.B.

You have class which is evident by reading your wonderful poem! Being on the quiet side helps because if you are being quiet you are honoring others by listening to what they have to say and that in itself is classy I believe. Brava on your poem!

Ehhh . . . Yes, there is such a thing as class, unfortunately it is a dying breed. Class has nothing whatsoever to do with being rich, in my opinion. Class is your inner self, an inner self which guides a person to be kind and courteous to all. Class to me means simply to have class, and if you have to define it you most probably do not have it. I know I don't have class. I'm a rough and tumble kind of guy, but I know class when I see it.

Simply beautiful Lucilla. We have friends who are millionaires they are the most down to earth wonderful people I could wish to have in my life - just ordinary people who have worked hard to get where they are no boasting no airs and graces - they have class. Others we know came into money drive rolls royces and boast - that is crass! hugs as ever Jan xxx

Hi Lucilla, I couldn't agree more with the message behind this insightful poem. My late husband was a genius, a three-time winner on Jeopardy. Yet he had the "class" not to talk down to others. My sister married into wealth, but the "class" you describe sometimes eludes her. Awesome poem!

Thank you Carolyn. I believe that class got nothing to do with being rich or poor. It is how we conduct ourselves.
