A Sunny Sunday

A sunny Sunday afternoon With family in the park Is one that on a calendar You wouldn't think to mark. Yet out among the leaves of gold, The weather crisp and bright, Our kids and grandkids by our sides, Things start to feel all right. The recent news recedes a bit And not at all too soon, For hope can be restored on such A sunny afternoon.

Ilene, dear lady, you are full of wisdom. I read your last six poems. Didn't realize you were a political "animal". I too was shocked when Trump was announced the winner. Well, we're stuck with him for the next four years. I won't pray for him because I don't believe the Almighty is interested in human politics. And I doubt Trump will pray for wisdom, since he appears to know it all. Thanks for the stop and the compliment on the last line of Turkey Day. / M

I hope you had fun Ilene:-) Nothing can beat sunny afternoon with the ones you love especially the grandchildren who are so oblivious to the turmoil in the world - we can do nothing to change the results last week just have to hope and pray some good decisions will be made:-) hugs Jan xx
