A Summer Eve

O'er the mirror lake and above the purple mountains, float rose, peach, and lilac clouds, some brushed with yellow-white gold on the edge, as the liquid amber sun casts soft rays across the plains. Always, there comes the desire to capture this beauty, but neither memory nor photograph can preserve what one feels, to gaze in peace at the summer evening sunset. So perfect - one wishes it would last - but knows it will end. In it the day finds completion and beauty to brave the dark. I hope my life will end like this - a Colorado summer's day. 9 August 2020
