A Stone Bird
The stone angel in the garden
weeping tears of blood
and salted rain.
For whom shall she cry?
Long forgotten hopes
of a youthful girls whims of love.
Of a child's broken toy,
lost forever,
shattered as dropped from yonder bough.
Ghost,
love's longing swept away,
drowning in indigo sea.
Streaming moonlight
caught in such empty hands
of decades passing so slow,
slowly, day by day, alone.
A stone bird in its nest.
