A Special Look

Water comes through the screen The cool breeze refreshes Washing away the scene Blowing away all the messes Chilling the warm thick air Cleansing the dust away Blowing without a care Making room for today And what does it hold Is it the rain or shine to come? Talking away the old Bringing forth the young Coffee in her ceramic cup Steam rising from within Drinking until she’s full up Changing her frown to a grin The rain outside slowing The cars rush the morning The moon in the sky not glowing School buses without warning Tires in the puddles splash Thunder rolling on the gulf Lightning in the back ground, crash! All is still but a pulse Will she awake with grace? Step out and smile See the sleep on her face She’s traveled a long, long mile The pain shows her age Time she may not have any She’s trying to turn the page But there are just too many There is a beam of light Something she never thought Shinning so bright A love that could not be bought A man once came her way Smiled and shared a book He’s still here today Giving her that special look
