A Sonnet of Mine

A Sonnet of Mine… (To The Changing of Time and Seasons) I arose this morning and stole a peek at the changing of nature; saw a giant evergreen staring at me in the center of the vision of my eye. To her right, left and back, stood her naked companions in all their rapture; as she, clothed in all her stately greenery, bade the wrath of winter, a hardy good-by. Her naked friends with their many frayed toothpick-like arms, showered in the misty dew. And as the celestial curtains parted and the waiting sunshine slowly slipped through, I sighed, prayed and girdled my soul with all the spirit within me; then I lent my ears to the miserable news echoing from the TV.

Hey Millard, stopped by for a visit and found this amazing tribute to the beautiful Evergreen. This is a wonderful poem filled with so much imagery and scenes of the changing phases of Nature accompanied by celestial sites. And in comes the ugliness. Well written and most beautifully expressed. Be Blessed, Neva

Greetings Neva. Many thanks for the read and inspiring feedback. Thanks most of all for the blessing. Indeed, if only we humans could be as gentle as nature. It is amazing how ugliness can raise its head in the midst of so much beauty. May pregnant hope prevails! Peace and Love.
