A Sombre Reality
Floods, earthquakes, hunger,
Worldwide strife,
Severe drought, dire thirst
Reality becomes apparent.
To stay alive
And to survive,
For many, will perish.
Humanity will be rationed,
Life as we know it abandoned,
Queuing for water,
Earth will suffer a great dearth,
Hearts will rage and be sore,
For water, nations will go to war,
Planet Earth is in danger,
Man is greedy
Careless of the needy,
Do they sleep at night knowing,
The poor live in a cardboard shed,
To find water, tomorrow’s dread,
Where are you running to,
There is nowhere to hide
One sad day, the tide
Will go out,
And never return.
Why do you murder for land,
And pluck the living from
Their homes
When soon there will
Be no water on hand.
God merely asks, why
Has man not learnt to share,
Why do the rich want more,
Do they not know what
Is in store,
He warns the world, beware,
This is your doing,
Earth is trembling,
Needs re-wiring,
Nuclear warfare is happening,
The whole world distraught,
Humanity will become extinct,
As fire consumes all,
In fiery shrouds,
And heaven, roars with thunder,
As the sky darkens
With heavy clouds,
Petals that fall on
A bloodied field,
No fruit will they yield.
