A Smile On My Lips
Today, I bounced out of bed
well-rested, with a clear head.
I had a smile on my lips
and a slight swing to my hips.
Yesterday, I was in tears
struggling with my mounting fears.
And then I prayed, asking God
to forgive the steps I've trod.
This morning I'm feeling good,
better than I thought I would.
Waking up to a blue sky
I'm happy and don't know why.
Thank you, God, for being there,
it is good to know You care.
Life looks attractive again
when not obscured by pain.
