A Single Prayer
~a single prayer~
a single prayer is prayed…
up up and away is sails…
like a leaf on an air current...
soaring up to the heavens…
or is it likened to a feather blowing in the wind
that where it ends up no one knows?
perhaps like a ripe dandelion plant with its seeds scattering across many lawns?
i say my prayer is grabbed…
grabbed like a warm kiss in the middle of a rainy day…
taken a hold of and never let go…
lifted up like a joyous choir of young children
to be appreciated by all those who gather to listen
i say my prayer is a simple act of kindness to another person
sending my request to the Only One who can tackle it…
his name is Jesus…
he is the One who takes all the petitions from the saints…
he quickly addresses each and every one of them
by supernaturally moving his adoring angels
i say that as soon as my prayer is lifting off towards heaven
that my Savior anticipates its arrival
knowing all along the prayers in my heart before they are even spoken...
today i sent up new petitions…
new petitions and new praises…
and even before the telegram is forwarded back to me
that they were received I am already singing a tune of thanksgiving!
