A Silenced Voice
I never felt a rain drop-
Or saw a snow flake fall,
I never said “I love you”
Or heard a pigeon’s call
All I’ve ever done was cry for life
But because they couldn’t hear-
I’ll never do the things you’ll do
Except cry, and die, and fear.
