A Short Sketch From a Day In the Park

An old man slumps on a wooden seat -- Pigeons flocking to his feet. Once he labored. Once he loved. Once he dreamt Of days to come. Now he ponders on a park bench Pigeons pecking at his recompense.

Awesome write lots of feeling I can relate, I did that watching squirrels feel asleep and they were all over me!

Oh Dear Ben... this poem makes me want to go sit beside that old man on the bench and hold his hand and speak softly and listen to his stories of old... I know he would have a lot to tell.. love your poem ... hugs and kisses Brooke
