A Ship Nerver To Sail
She will never sail on a sea of dreams, or take the wind on her bow She will never hear her watch bell toll as it strikes the fourteenth hour
A Captain will never stand at the rail and gaze at the setting sun
She will never slice through white capped waves, as she makes her cargo run
She will never put her anchor down and sit picture perfect on a bay
Her deck, never to creak or yawn when on a windless sea she lay
She will never fly a flag, pride of a fighting fleet
She will never taste the thrill of victory or know the agony of defeat
She sits there on my mantel, trapped in a bottle of glass
Wonder, if I tossed her in the ocean, could she sail the sea at last
