A Shining Light
The rope and wood swinging old bridge
Stretched across the great cavern
Below at least thousand feet
Runs a river of swift beauty_almost heaven
Darkness has overtaken the day
Each sway of the rickety bridge_fear
The wind tugs the rope to movement
Fear surrounds me grasping holding tightly
Then a shining light lights the way
Caresses and warmth envelop me
Each hold and step is lighted just for me
As if a guiding light of a star appears
The star that is my leading force
As longing for the other side rushes over me
Where truly a home of heavenly comfort waits
The light lifts and lightens my steps and carries me home
Where eternal peace and fulfillment wait enfolding me in the lights warmth
