A Servant's Plea

Please Lord help me, sometimes I just don't understand Many things concerning Your Word when I know its just the doctrines of man. Man says that one thing is wrong when my conscience says its right So what do I do, Lord, do I just give up the fight? Some say there's a certain way that a Christian ought to dress But does this mean that we should not have the best considering the fact that Your Word says that we are highly favored and exceeding blessed? Does it mean that we should go all-ragged and unappealing? Was this the way that our Savior looked or did He reject these feelings? Because we are saved, does this mean we should be poor and always in distress? Or can we be like Christ and still have some happiness? If we are saved, does it mean that we can not laugh and smile Or do we have to walk around with a sullen-looking profile? Can we who are saints of God enjoy some pleasures in this life? Or do we have to always have a bundle full of strife? Man has an indoctrinated opinion as to what a Christian should do. Even though they don't coincide with the Word, they feel what they think is true. So help me Lord to understand the things I hear each day Then help me take the rightful ones, and travel on my way Don't let me get so discouraged as to give up on your Word But help me to believe what's right and shun what seems absurd Let your Spirit be my leader as well as be my guide Then no matter what the world may say, I'll know where my Truth lies.
