A Secret To Keep
Tell me a secret
No one else knows
I promise I won't tell
Your secret is safe with me
I'll tell you mine
If you promise not to tell
Mine is kind of a big one
It might blow your mind
Something you would never expect
From little ole me
The one that hides behind the mask
The scared, unsure young woman
Who put her trust and love
Into the person that was suppose to be
The one and only
The one i should have been able to
Trust with my life
But now I don't trust him with a thing
He ruined me
Some might say beyond repair
I'm "damaged goods"
I am, I admit, not right
Rape changes a person
In ways no one can imagine
Makes you wish you were someone else
Someone new
Nothing is the same
No matter how you try
To act like it is
It scars you for life
Especially if it was more than one time
But you try to find your way back
Though impossible it seems at the time
And you might hurt people you love on the way
Because your not the same
Everything has changed
That's my secret
Promise not to tell?
I hope you keep your promises well!
