A Secret Past
When I came into this world life was perfect
I didn't have to think about every day
Now life has moved in a different direction
I've tried so hard to get your affection
The rain helps me hide my tears
They've gathered over the years
You don’t know what I’ve had to endure
It’s a miracle they found a cure
I regret holding it in for the past years
I didn’t want you to share my fear
I tried to live my childhood as normal as could be
Don’t be mad for me trying to be me
I tried to tell just someone
But you can’t tell one and call it done
Everyone tries to hide his or her past
At last, mine is no longer a secret
I hope you’re not upset
It was just something I tried to forget
My secret haunts me in my sleep
Our friendship is something I want to keep
I hope you don’t hold this against me
Now we’re closer than we’ll ever be
