A Sanguine Sun
A Sanguine Sun
I saw the first glimpse of morning sun
He wore the faintest shade of pink.
But before I had the chance to blink
Golden wings opened. Day had begun.
With eyes squinted, I watched him soar.
He moved at a swift and steady pace.
As his warmth bathed my upturned face,
I absorbed his rays into every pore.
I kept my eyes on him through the day.
It was his job to keep the world bright
Until his daily burden gave way to night
And his shadows could no longer play.
When I looked again he was sinking low
A sanguine orb drowning in the sea
Taking my life blood away from me ~
Fond farewells cause my tears to flow.
