A Rusty Screen

Ethereal rays of light dilute darkness into gray. And black no longer shrouds night, only shadows defy day. A spiderweb casts a hue of iridescent flashes. And the morning mist drips dew in intermittent splashes. Dawn splits reality's realm into scenes rivaling dreams. And songbirds sing in the elm as sunbeams gild golden streams. Dragonflies and bumblebees flex crackled cellophane wings. And summer rides every breeze, smug with the heat that it brings. Slivers of light pierce my eye, shining through a rusty screen. And rustling leaves flutter; high in a canopy of green. (Quatrain) 5/12/2015

Love the juxtaposition of "rays of light dilute darkness into gray" and "only shadows defy day" but even more so "Dragonflies and bumble bees flex crackled cellophane wings". Just beautiful, Emile. Well done.

This is just so so beautiful..."Dragonflies and bumble bees, flex crackled cellophane wings." I love the imagery you paint so colorfully through your words. The photo is equally inspiring. The fifth stanza is awesome in particular! The whole thing is really. Always, Laura

Emile, you have the talent to not only deliver exquisite imagery, you also inspire others to see it poetically as Diane has said. You are, a prolific writer, however, and if my muse keep jumping up and down when she sees you work, I worry that I can't keep up with my time! Just want to acknowledge how deeply you are appreciated. Another 7. :-) Kim
