A Rural Road
To find I will a rural road
Where horse and buggy were the last,
While of today I will unload
And dream only of the past.
Far away from the interstate
Upon a road without a sound
And even though I'm running late,
My way home will be found.
To peaceful pastures like a dream
Of dusty farmers behind a plow,
With great horses by the team
Upon a rural road in the now.
And to stop, the time, I will take,
On a rural road slow of pace
And in the silence I'll awake,
Memories of a forgotten place.
