A Rose Everyday
I promised you a rose everyday,
But sometimes it refuses to bloom.
Then I hold you and start to sway,
But you stop and claim it is too soon,
Yet telling me to wait and stay
For we shall dance again after noon.
And I? What can I even say?
I am bound to you, not to the moon.
Since man was made of cheap clay
And woman was the kinder boon,
I have two choices: either obey today
or kiss you away from this swoon .
