A Riot of Violas
I tend to my garden in somnolent bliss
As heavenly lavender puts me at ease,
The Sun warms my back as I potter about
To the hypnotic droning of foraging bees.
They bumble about from flower to flower
Enjoying the heat of the day,
Butterflies too rejoice in the Sun
I delight in their vivid display.
A riot of violas take centre stage
Such beauty could make a heart sigh,
Here in my garden, in quiet repose
Who could be as content as I.
Yes 'tis nothing grand, a small plot of land
Yet rich in joyous rewards,
To nurture, to care, to watch it then grow
Such balm for the soul it affords.
