A Reunion
I can’t stand here
Face to face
And look you in the eyes
As we both recount what took place
Where your eyes looked
Where your fingers traced
Where your body laid
Where your hands were placed
Everyone else thinks we’re close
The ones who know have departed
The secret's been buried
But this has only started
Just like old times
You reach out for my hand
And whisper the words
You used to command
But I don’t love you
I never did
I was confused and scared
Just a little kid
There are so many questions
I wish I knew the answers to
What were you trying to prove?
Who were you?
But I can’t stand here
Not now, not today
As I recount what I thought
Was innocent child’s play
