A Reflection of You
I never knew you as my daddy,
But in my heart you dwell.
I was too young to understand,
That ultimate farewell.
In my heart...I know you love me,
And watch over me and my two sons.
But one day we’ll walk hand-in-hand,
When this precious life...is done.
Everyday...I strive to be,
Half the person you were.
But when I sift my memories,
They always seem to blur.
I often ponder what life would be,
If you had that chance to stay.
But your departure transformed me,
Into the strong girl...I am today.
One thing I fail to notice,
Is in everything I do.
That through the eyes of others,
I cast a reflection of you.
