A Rare Find
A Rare Find
The pain of loneliness won’t kill me
But I thought it might a time or two
Because I had thoughts of a better life
It was just something I always knew
But time and pain have cured me
Of wanting that elusive life
I had my time and it was good
The days when I was a wife
Now those days are gone
I was sorry to see them go
But my life is not so bad now
I have been given time to grow
I know now who I am
And I don’t lie or pretend
I had my share of that heartache
But even that has found an end
There was a man the other day
Said he was trying to do something on line
He contacted me by mistake
And I wrote and told him it was fine
Don’t worry overly much about it
We all share in the in that little game
Mistakes are so easy to make
And then we exchanged names
He asked me a few questions
And I answered him in kind
We started a conversation
And I thought ..what a rare find.
Someone who likes to talk
And share what’s on his mind
Not asking for anything else
Yes, my dear, you are a rare find.
