A Rainy Surrender
A Rainy Surrender
Distant memories hide within the mist
Silently they sleep by the rainy morn
Afraid to awake from dreams unborn.
A legacy of dew rests upon the grassy hill
In a sullen hush it comes into form
The silky web of passions lost to the storm.
Drops of rain scatter upon the pane
Like tears that lost their way
Through the empty frames of yesterday.
Gazely upon glossy reflections
Over a ghostly portrait the tears fall
Some stranger who no longer calls.
