A Prayer To God the Father
When beset with daily troubles,
that I cannot understand.
I will lift my eyes toward Jesus,
I'll clutch His nail scarred hand.
For it's your son and I love him,
He is with me every day.
Always watching, always listening,
guiding me Lord lest I stray.
My prayer is to be a witness Lord,
to those not serving you.
While eagerly doing and pursuing,
little things you'd have me do.
Not for worldly fame or glory,
for I know they will not last.
But in memory of the Christ child,
come to earth to cleanse our past.
So as this year quickly leaves us,
and You a new one usher in.
May my thoughts be ever mindful,
of all the things that might have been.
