A Prayer For All Religions
Hallowed be thy name,
Spirit of growth, compassion, and love –
Whatever they may call you.
You are not
An unyielding, vengeful
Law-giving master
For there is but one law in your realm
Inscribed in Earth and in Sky:
Love, and do no harm.
You are not
A stern judge who divides the righteous
From the unworthy,
For by your power all those who seek, may find,
And all may receive
Your blessing.
You are not
A dispenser of shame and of guilt
And of restrictions,
For your glory is in the flame of renewal,
The water of forgiveness,
And the seeds of endless possibilities.
Spirit of growth, compassion, and love –
Whatever they may call you:
Hallowed be thy name.
