A Prayer For a Stranger
That man on the bus who was just a few feet away
I asked the Holy Spirit to come upon him today
And that lady in the news who I saw on television
I ask that He would send a sense of God's only Son
The long haul driver all alone out there on the highway
For a faith that will fill your every need I will always pray
And the elderly woman just ahead in line at the market
I just prayed in seeing that Your Light was already lit
The children all around laughing and just enjoying play
Lord I know You are intimately watching over their day
But of their parents for whom some seem to have no concern
I pray that it is now Your Gift that they are now able to discern
The school bus with so many innocent children as they ride
How the school system just tossed Your Blessed Name aside
And St. Francis for the poor little dog outside in there in a cage
That he will no longer have to suffer nor feel his owners selfish rage
And let me not forget my enemies and all those who try to destroy
May the Lord Jesus touch their heart as with the greatest of joy
Oh my spiritual checking account how I often use and will never close
For with just one prayer who can ever ponder what the Lord now sows
How's your spiritual checking account?
Open one today!
It's free and it's easy.
And there's no minimal balance.
