A Poets Worth
The poet takes his pen then with a few firm strokes
he outline his work.
Then like the artist he floods it with knowledge of life,
a masterpiece in the making,
adding words straight from his soul, where
memories are stored, with care and love.
The picture will be beautiful, his seeing eyes will fill the canvas.
So much to think about, to reminisce to write from within,
his heart will lay there bleeding, pouring out his love,
hopes and dreams.
You cannot put a price on a poets worth, if he
had been given a gold coin for each word he has written
he would be a multi millionaire.
An item of jewellery for each redeeming thought,
his coffers would be full.
Yet usually is a man with nothing,
learning and writing constantly.
Painting in words a masterpiece for all to enjoy.
That's a poets worth.
