A Poetry Critique Recited
OPEN VERSE
Will my verse
reach your ear can
your eye stay the course
Does unconvention
Confound the rhythm
of your eyes
Take a deep breath
exhale and read
between my lines
unphased by phrase and
habitude or human voice
The choice is always
yours if my poem will
be or is not, to be
a tune upon your ear
THE POET
Turning twisting torment
his soul erupts upon his page-
Melancholic thoughts
drip drip endless tedium
into the reader's eye-
obtuse,remote emotions
stagnate as still waters
stifle life squeeze
vitality to death
A POET
I picked up this
pen let it loose
upon this page
just as WCW
did with her 'reply'
to his 'just to say'
so matter of fact
so every day
a note, husband to wife
can become so well read
albeit after the poet's
dead
