A Pikes Peak Winter Night

A Pikes Peak Winter Night The mountain peak at sunset time Gives off a crimson glow And high above the timberline There lies eight feet of snow I watch the sun drop out of sight And stars glow everywhere And on this cold and windy night I long to be right there In silence then to wish upon The first star that I see That when my life is dead and gone My spirit is set free To float above the peak so high To be a guiding light For others gazing wishfully On a Pikes Peak winter night

Artistically phrased and pleasingly rhythmical...I enjoyed reading this, although I am not a fan of cold weather...I do however appreciate the beauty of Pike's Peak and snow and starlight, if only from a distance. Good work.

Thank you for the comment. Not only am I not a fan of the cold, I retired to the North Carolina coast to get away from it. But I do enjoy the views as long as I do not have to actually be out in the cold to see them.

Beautiful, the snow peaks of a mountain or so beautiful from a distance. Mount Shasta was one of my favorites as you drive into California from the Oregon boarder. Nice write, Mike, 7

I saw a beautiful picture of Pikes Peak. It was a night time, moon-lit scene and I just had to write about it. I am glad you liked it. I would love to see Mount Shasta one of these days. I have never been that far north in California - maybe some day.
