A Piece of Heaven
Someday soon, you'll be able to
Pick up the pieces and get on
With the rest of your life.
Relinquish some of those old ghosts
That still haunt you in the night.
You can pick up just where you left off
So many years ago.
Tend your little garden well
So it has room to grow.
Fence your piece of Heaven in
To keep it safe from harm
And hungry eyes.
Set traps for the rats
Who'll try to steal your garden
With their lies.
Guard it well and keep it clean.
Let the sunshine in.
Always new and ever-green,
And don't forget your friends.
