A Phantom Or a Dream In Reality

A Phantom Or A Dream In Reality Was she not known for, kindness and grace Loving deep and a sad fate: Should we fail to bless her in our remorse golden arrows to pierce our hides, flowers bloomed hearing her sweet name- where the cool shadows often reside; a mirror wants her image yet again she that made the angels cry. Alas! Forever gone is my dearest friend! Robert J. Lindley, 10-14-2015 Note-- Written for the next romance contest themed on lost love...I am now into writing as I did when in my early twenties. Inspired by the memory of a dear friend that died back in 1977....

Hmmmm! I lost my husband to cancer just after my 40th birthday. I know about the missing piece. When your young...you feel a loss deeply but rebound with promise. The older you are when loss comes...the more you are able to accept that it must be but the less able you are to rebound.

This is extrodinary at capturing the sting of loss and death. Going about with a chunk out of your heart & not ever being able to find the same rhythm again. Well told in so few words. Powerful emotion.

Sorry for your loss, Robert. They must have been very special to you. This is similar to what happened to me when my brother died many years ago. It gave me the catalyst to begin to write and I have been doing so ever since. It's the memories that we keep that help us to write with such feeling, as you have here. What a wonderful tribute.

So true. Once one has such an experience its never forgotten. And writing about it was my way of saying a final goodbye. Even with it being a very sad write.

To have something so pure and delicate as to scare you with its perfection and then to lose it, cripples the desire to replace it...for awhile anyway. Emile.

You are correct Emile, there was no replacing that lady. I let her travel on because I was the unworthy one back then. Yet sometimes I wonder what might have been!
