A Nook and a Storybook
I don’t remember my birth
Though I know it was with paper and ink.
Some could not describe my worth,
To you and another world I provided a link…
So there I sat stacked upon others
Until a girl came and took me along with her.
I took her to a world of another’s
Where adventures were ought to occur.
My journey with her was lively until I felt pain.
It was then that I realised she was crying.
Upon me came a permanent sensation stain.
And later I knew- the beloved character was dying.
Through that journey of different emotions
I understood her love for others like me.
Her knowledge of books as vast as the oceans,
The words that let her be free.
I may be just made of paper and ink
But I promise you, I can take you to another world in just a blink.
