A New Day
A wonderful gift
our Father gives us
in his infinite grace;
each new day begins,
by his boundless mercy,
with a brand new slate.
Yesterday is gone;
dreams unsatisfied,
hopes left unfulfilled,
plans not realized.
The wasted time sits
in memory as swill.
But today is mine,
to work and plan.
Hope restored,
strength renewed,
I dream again—
and try once more.
