Thank you to all who care and showed your love. You people are the only friends I have and I appreciate all the kindness that has been and is shown to me on a daily basis.   DT

While chasing after my beguiling muse I fell into the bottomless abyss Free falling into darkness does confuse Despair replaces fragile happiness This chill of loneliness I've felt before No longer does the darkness summon fear Cause hope is like a beacon on the shore And love of friends provides a net of tears But getting out is not an easy task It all depends on just how far I fall And when I reach the top I'll don my mask To hide the shame and stigma of it all Then once again I'll strive to reach my goal To find a cover for this damn manhole an original poem by Daniel Turner

Those pesky muses always like to cause a flap. Truth is I think they have a wicked sense of humor.

Daniel...I'm glad I chose to read this one although it makes my heart hurt for you. I think it's a wonderful poem and the more I read your writing the more I realize what a truly wonderful poet you are. But remember our pain makes us more receptive to others' pain too, more understanding. Thank you for coming to chat tonight and I hope you will read the message I left you in your soupmail.

Never want to go back there. Easy to understand "the chill of lonliness " you speak of Daniel.

Daniel, I hope that black veil is lifted soon and you are bathed in comforting light that inspires your muse. I can relate. Cheers, Connie ; )

Thank you Mrs Connie. I think I'll let my muse come to me, instead of chasing her! She always runs to the past! Thank you for your treasured friendship and support:)

I used to live in West Texas, that is where I met my second wife. It would have been very difficult for me to move from Oregon to Texas. I once dated a girl who lived in Portland and have been there many many times. Yes, you are a dear friend Mrs Eve. Thank you for your support and prayers.

John, it is a never ending battle. It's kinds like driving in spring after the winter storms. There is a new pothole everyday in a different place. Thanks for your friendship and support:)

There's no shame in falling unless you don't get back up. Let your NETwork of friends cover that manhole for you. Reach up and grab a hand. This is really good, Danny, and in sonnet form.. yeah, I noticed ;-)

Lin, I've never before had a hand to reach up to! I've done everything on my own since I was 17. I have great difficulty now writing rhymes. Sonnets have become more natural. Thank you for you wonderful friendship and never ending kindness. The beauty of your heart shines brightly!
