A Mundane Refrain

Another day Another dollar The alarm clock screams I mute the squalor Let me sleep Just one more hour Having to work My mood turns sour. Cold water hits me In the shower I didn’t get to sleep That extra hour The water heater’s busted I cannot fix it My bank account is empty The alimony nixed it. Manual labor For little pay Sore and tired At the end of the day Bills pile up I throw them away God help me I cry and pray. Dinner consumed From a bottle Life speeds by Revving the throttle All alone With my troubles For dessert I have a double. Crawl into bed Re-set the alarm My hand, the only woman I can charm Fall asleep Feeling no pain Go to the top And start over again.

You've got quite a sense of humor! Next time you have a day like this, make it a quadruple instead of a double.

You really had me laughing out loud when you described your hand as "the only woman" you can charm. Very witty write, my friend. Tell her to give back some of the alimony so you can have hot water. LOL Love, Carolyn
