A Mouthful of Daggers

Razor sharp tongues unleashed Lashing out viciously to openly legitimise bigotry then suddenly taking offense when queried releasing long concealed weapons the deep desire to "remodel Africans" No intentions of acceptance in sight Spitting out venom faster than a viper To further the colonisation agenda A mouthful of daggers rained down hard on your bare black back Words aimed to leave you deeply wounded if not maimed Blatantly denying the reality of your struggle To boldly label its existence questionable dismissing your plight for equality Belittling the worth you keep raining on this land This is a revealing part of the puzzle It's the biggest eye opener ever There's never any regrets on their part They mean exactly what they said And say clearly what they meant It's you who owns ears but won't hear common wealth simply meant your wealth commandeered for their want of power They are the true masters of manipulation Your ancestors unwittingly handed them your legacy back then Now your back stays bent backwards to provide them with cheap labour A muzzle to your face to shut you up Shamelessly claiming your hard earned achievements as theirs for clout Yet making it near impossible for you to achieve anything in this hostile place They would siphon your blood out if they could find use for it Use, abuse then discard or simply destroy is the order of the day anyone who is created different from their likeness is fair game Loot and defile any place at will no regard for its rightful inhabitants Always been their game to play dirty still is to this day They love to see you penniless on your knees at their mercy But you won't listen to reason You want to be picked for a token Always eager to sacrifice your kin for approval and a pat on the head They will never truly acknowledge your worth as a fellow human That report right there, is a living proof of the extent of the deeply rooted prejudice in this country They expect whoever they see as alien to live off the scraps from their gluttony At least in America they acknowledge the disparity in their land Not this lot over here, not if they can help it They'd rather latch on to American history for reference while turning a blind eye to the fire roaring in their own back garden Truth just so happens to be their kryptonite they avoid it at any cost and can't help but meddle with it Go on, speak your truth melanated being! Remember to also unite with your kin in order to prevail There is much strength to be found in unity
