A Moonlit Sleigh Ride
A Moonlit Sleigh Ride
We have a bright full moon rising,
In the far distant sky to the east.
Is it true there’s a man in the moon?
Or could it be some historic beast.
This golden moon is shining brightly,
It almost turns night into day.
The glitter of yesterday’s snowfall,
Adds luster to our ride in the sleigh.
We’re headed for a pond in the valley,
A place where we meet to skate.
The moon follows behind us,
Giving us a perfect moonlit state.
As we arrive at the frozen pond,
We see the crowd gathering around.
To watch the ice skate races,
Wondering, who will wear the crown?
The moon is much higher in the sky,
As homeward we go in our sled.
Tonight I am one happy skater,
To be wearing the crown on my head.
